Jonathan Dyer is the 2015 Nuffield Australia Scholarship Winner. He is from Kaniva in Victoria.

Jonathan will use his scholarship to investigate the possibilities ‘Big Data’ creates for improving farm practice and profitability. Big Data refers to the ability to capture and store large volumes of information and analyse it to solve complex problems and gain business insights.

While Jonathan believes Big Data can help farmers make better and more profitable decisions, he’d like to look at who owns the data farmers generate, and whether they can they take ownership of that data to create value from it.
